Trails
A system of hiking trails is proposed to link Hickory Nut Forest to parks, forest preserves and open spaces in the gorge. When completed, it will enable hikers to walk the entire length of the gorge from Gerton to Hickory Nut Gorge State Park at Lake Lure, allowing them to truly appreciate the beauty of Western North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains.
