GRAND OPENING -

PROTECTING THE
LAND
Henderson County Commission Chairman Bill Moyer, left, and John Myers, co-owner
of Hickory Nut Forest development, participate in a ribbon cutting Saturday
during the grand opening of the Hickory Nut Forest development at the entrance
of the community in Gerton.
The 26-acre development is designed as an ecologically sustainable community that will feature 17 home sites; 35 acres of forest land adjacent to the home sites are to be kept in their natural condition under a conservation easement. The Hickory Nut Forest development is a part of a larger project that protects 270 acres of land in the Little Bearwallow Mountain and Hickory Nut Creek area.
